Working-In Progress: college cover 1
Today in class we started to create our own college magazine front cover. At the beginning of the lesson I went out the class to take some pictures for my front cover. The image on the left is an image of my front cover that I started to make today. I need to make changes to the masthead - change the colour of it. I also need to add all the other features in order to have a complete front cover.

Case Study of DJ Magazine (Improvement).
The text that is in bold is the improved sections. I have only improved analyses of the contents page and the double spread page as these are the only sections mentioned for improvement in the feedback I got.

Looking At College Magazines.
What is similar to music magazines?
- College magazines also have a masthead and some have a skyline.
- They have cover lines.
- Some college magazines use the traditional three colour scheme.
- They have a bar-code.
- They have a main image in the middle.
- Some magazines also have puffs.
What is different to music magazines?
- Mostly all college magazine covers have an image of a person that is smiling.
- The cover lines are much bigger in size.
- The front cover of college magazines usually use more than two different fonts.
- Not a lot of college magazines have a main cover line presented in the middle.
- All college magazine front covers use young people for their image.

Looking At Contents Page.
Today in class we looked at different music magazines and their contents page.My group looked at a MixMag magazine. We discovered that usually MixMag magazines have no more than five or four images included in their contents page. The images are placed mostly in the middle and the images reflect different type of shot types. All the images also reflect the magazine's genre (dance music). The page numbers are listed in chronological order and the contents page includes couple of different subheadings. From looking at different magazines and their contents pages I have learnt the conventions of a contents page which will be beneficial later on when I will be creating my own contents page.
