Today we had an induction to the studio where we will be taking pictures for our magazine. The induction was done by a photography teacher. We got introduced to the main equipment that we could use and we also got some useful tips and guidelines from the teacher. We learnt how to use the camera and we learnt everything about the lighting and the studio flash. The teacher suggested to use 2:1 lighting ratio. He also showed how the studio flash(soft boxes) can be used to gain different effects and how it enhances images. The flash at the back hits the back of the model and helps to create a clear outline of the image when it has been taken. We also got to see some good examples of photography. We are able to take our images on a white or a black backdrop. However we first need to book a session in the studio in order to use it.
